Efforts underway to bring Pope to Sask. for residential school apology

Multiple organizers are working to bring the Pope to Wanuskewin, a place where Indigenous people have been gathering for thousands of years. The location is also close to Saskatchewan, which was home to more Native students per capita than any residential school. The Pope and church has apologized for the church’s complicity in boarding schools. The Saskatoon tribe is ready to move on and heal from the trauma.
