During the Indian Boarding School era, many children were abused at the hands of the school and the church. The trauma from this abuse has continued to plague Indian Country with some individuals perpetuating the cycle of abuse in their own communities. This article focuses on a medicine man who was beloved by his community, but also had a history of abusing girls, which resulted in mental health issues, and trauma for the victims.
